Abstract: The technology of transforming cotton and synthetic fibres into fabrics and dyed fabrics generates various kinds of effluent. The influence of effluents on water reserve depends on the physico-chemical properties of the present organic and inorganic impurities. This paper proposed some mathematical models for the prediction of certain concentrations of the effluents discharged from the textile industries. The parameters modelled for include the pH, alkalinity level, iron ions, chromium ions, manganese ions, total dissolved solid, chloride ions, copper ions and zinc ions. Results of the modelled equations compares favourably with the experimental values with the highest percentage deviation of 1.52% and the lowest of 0.16%. The models could serve as a tool of control and monitoring of environmental pollution.
