Abstract: This study investigated the use of electronic database as a tool for scholarly research by scholars in Nigerian Universities. The study used 45 staff working in e-database section and 150 users across sciences and humanities disciplines from first generation universities. Questionnaire was the data collection instrument. Result showed the availability of e-databases in three selected university libraries (ABU, Zaria, UI Ibadan and University of Nigerian, Nsukka). AGORA, HINARI, LISA and JSTOR are easily accessible to users. There was highest level of satisfaction with e-databases for supporting teaching, research and learning in universities. Majority of respondents indicated non-relevant of LISA for academic attainment. Study recommended workable and efficient consortium in order to pool resources together for accessibility to e-databases.
