dc.description.abstractIn this work we developed and analyzed a mathematical model of chlamydia trachomatis and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID): A sex-structured approach. The model is a first order Ordinary Differential Equations, in which the human population is divided into seven mutually- exclusive compartments namely; Susceptible male individuals ( m S ), Susceptible female individuals ( fS ), Infected male individuals ( m I ) ,Treated male individuals (Tm ), Infected female individuals without Pelvic Inflammatory Disease ( f I ), Treated female individuals (Tf) and female individuals infected with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease ( Pf ) .The equilibrium states of the model were obtained and analyzed for stability. By using Bellman and Cooke’s theorem, the endemic equilibrium state was found to be stable and the criteria for stability of the disease free equilibrium state were established.en_US
