Abstract: This study is designed to assess the work skills required for employment by motor vehicle mechanics graduates of technical colleges for sustainable national development. Descriptive survey design was used in carrying out the study. The respondents for the study consists of 27 motor vehicle mechanics work teachers in all the technical colleges in Niger State and 42 motor vehicle mechanics work master crafts-men working in Niger State selected through cluster sampling technique. A structured question was utilized to collect data for the study. Based on the findings conclusions were drawn amongst which are that the development of generic skills should be integrated into the curriculum of motor vehicle mechanics programme to ensure that motor vehicle mechanics graduates from technical colleges graduates with the required skills for employment in different organizations for sustainable national development
