Abstract: safety management plan (SMP) is a collection of documents that outline how the principles contractor will manage health and safety for employees subcontractors suppliers visitors and general republic SMP formulates l its the approaches to risk management and minimizes potential human financial loss of the employers and employees alike thus project manager are not expected to be health and safety expert, not are they expected to conduct thorough worksite inspection. However, a basic appreciation of safety and regulations issues most frequently encounter in construction sites will help to ensure a safe work environment for employees and contractors and minimize potential liability exposure the objective of the paper is to determine the level of understanding of safety management system bin work place among project managers of some selected sites in Kuala Lumpur. Structured or standardized questionnaires were used in the project managers interview at 5 different construction site on average these score from 5 sites as regarded to project managers interview in 71.67% in conclusion the projects manager Ive literally all the potential and significance knowledge of safety management plan practice in there site there was the for improvement in the knowledge among the Project managers as regard to safety management system this study there for recommended that in order to improve on the knowledge of safety management system on sites adequate training program should be incorporated into the organization action plan for food yes managers such training organized by national institute of occupational safety and health (NIOSH) Malaysia could be of great help improving the knowledge of safety management system among the project manager.
