| Abstract: | This project presents the design and construction of a digital countdown timer with alarm. An AT89C52 microcontroller IC belonging to the 8051 family was programmed as a real time clock. The digital countdown timer can count down from as high as two hundred and fifty six (256) days to zero seconds.
