Abstract: Education is a key ingredient for nation building, but even this powerful tool for growth can be brought to a standstill by natural disaster, war or a pandemic. This was and is the nature of impact exerted by the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic; it has sent millions of people to early graves and plungedmany more into unforeseen hardship. In Nigeria, it overwhelmed the heath sector, crippled economic growth and led to schools' closure for a period of ten months, which further revealed the dilapidation in the Educational sector, as many schools could not effectively switch from conventional to virtual classes. Upon schools’ reopening, COVID-19 Protocols aimed at curbing the spread of the deadly virus were draft out by the University Management, this study is an assessment of staff and students' compliance to these COVID-19 Protocols in the Bosso Campus of Federal University of Technology, Minna. Ituseda cross-sectional survey design where a research instrument titled ‘COVID-19 Response Questionnaire’ with 0.75 reliability coefficient index was administered to an accidental sample of 150 respondents from a population of 3,000. Descriptive statistics of Mean and Standard deviation was used to answer three research questions at the decision mean of 2.5. Results showed that staff and students do not complywiththe COVID-19 Protocols, it also revealed some factors encouraging non-complianceand based on the findings,the Researcher recommended that a committee be put in place to actively monitor staff and students’ compliance to COVID-19 Protocols and adequately discipline defaulters.
