Abstract: ABSTR/\CT. This project work centers on the l 'e of questionllaire technique for assessing the effects of urban slum on the people and the environment. Data was collected based on the following requirement land use structure, number of rooms per household, number of pers HI per room, construction materials used, age of the structure, ventilation cOlldilion, availability of kitchen, toilet and bathroom, type of sewage disposal facilities, type of water supply available, refuse collection points, accessibility of motorable road and accessibility of dwelling units to primary schools. However, comprehensive analyses based on graphical work have postulated to give a wide understanding. The recommendation cl'nters on two policies. In the first category are long-tenl policies issues n lating to prevention of slum while in the second category are short-term p( Ii y issues relating to the physical improvement of slum area in Suleja.
