Abstract: ABSTRACT Waste management has been in practice for long, starting with the initial crude methods to the now advanced and sophisticated methods. Solid wastes in particul<lr, present problems in many countries when it comes to management. This study has investigated solid waste management in Minna, with the main objective of determining if the management programmme now is better than it was before. The study has been mainly on comparative investigation of the former agency responsible for waste management ill the area of study known as Niger State Environmental Protection Agency and the present one, Niger State Urban Development Board. The investigation was carried out theoretically, practically, statistically and with data sourced from NUDB, etc. All that were necessary and available used for the study. The investigation showed that there has been remarkabJe improvement in waste management since the establishment of Niger State Urban development Board.
