Abstract: It ha~ been statistically established that recent developments in ;> computer technology-especially in its application to the solution of human problems-has significantly facilitated personnel' management functions in many organisations. Personnel officers in Minna Local Government Council have had very limited exposure to computers and do computerisation of personnel functions. In this project, dBase iv - a classic database management system for micro computers, that allows interaction with data through multiple ~l selections, was used to set up a personnel management information system. This system provides management with direct information and ensured , proper record of the profile and functions of all staff of the Minna Local Government Council.
