Abstract: ABSTRACT This project is aimed at helping organisation in achieving a positive result in its General Ledger System. This proposed system(i.e General Ledger Automation) will produce information of the status of the organisation instantaneously when called upon for a quick decision making. The researcher employed Record Inspection technique to gather data from a few Branches for the research work. The sensitive nature of Banking industry and the fact that banks provide specialized services, the management personnel in the banking industry need to have a deep insight into the General Ledger System, there is also practical necessity to ensure the acceptance of Automated General System as efficient management tool vital to planning, coordinating and controlling functions. I will like to inform the management of Cooperative Bank (Nig) PIc to always remember that computer is prone to human errors. The management should also try to release necessary data to researchers to enable them obtain a good result in the nearest future.
