Issue Date: Nov-2004
Abstract: ABSTRACT This project studies Regression and Correlation analysis with a view to developing a computer program to perform all necessary computation and empirical assessment of the regression model. The computer program is developed with the uses of Basic programming language. The data is collected on the Rice production, Rainfall and Temperature recorded at FCT Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Multiple regression models are built to enable the future prediction of the quantity of rice production that may occur as effected by rainfall and temperature. The Test for the significance of the parameters of the model is done using the analysis of variance. Correlation coefficient is used to test the strength of linear relationship that exists between the Rainfall and quantity of Rice production for the period under study. It is also used to determine the strength of relationship between the quantity of rice and temperature recorded for the period. The algorithms of the program are the flowchart.
