Title: SYTEMATIC APPROACH TO PC MAINTANANCE & TROUBLESHOOTING (A Case study of AMI-Tech Computers (Nig) Ltd Maintenance Workshop, Minna))
Authors: IDEM, IDEM NKOYO INYANG
Issue Date: Sep-2000
Abstract: There is considerable variation in both the quantity and quality of service information provided by Personal Computers Manufacturers. All too often technical manuals, if they can be obtained at all, are of poor quality and the service information that they contain may be extremely limited. Different problems do arise when by virtue of age; a personal computer ceases to be adequately supported by the manufacturers or by "third party" maintenance utilities. For example when the system performance is limited by the available size of the hard disk, there is need to upgrade the disk with a more modern and larger disk. This project work therefore tends to design steps or guide to troubleshooting needs and to provide a systematic approach to system maintenance. Common faults and possible solutions are being highlighted and this IS believed to aid in common troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
