dc.description.abstractEducational assessment has been regarded as part and parcel of teaching and learning right from the time formal education came in to existence. The attainment of Educational objectives and goals is never possible in the absence of assessment in teaching and learning. This paper reviewed some of the innovative assessment techniques that can be used to foster valid assessment of teaching and learning activities in learning institutions. It further discussed efficacy of Computer-Based Test as an innovative technique in assessment and rounded-off with some examples of CATs which contains techniques used in classroom instruction. The paper concluded that if those techniques highlighted could be utilized by teachers and lecturers, there will be great improvement in the quality of teaching and learning which as result will enhance the the quality of education in Nigeria.en_US
