Abstract: The study investigated the types of ICT facilities available for training, use and job performance in university libraries in North West Nigeria. Two specific objectives and null hypothesis were formulated on significant influence of ICT training and use on job performance among library personnel in the studied universities. Conceptual model containing the independent and dependent variables was developed by the researchers. Populations and consisted of 1,327 library personnel (454 librarians and 873 library officers) in 18-fully operational universities in North West Nigeria. Multi-stage sampling technique was used to adopt 169 library personnel (74 librarians and 95 library officers) in seven randomly selected universities in the geo-political zone. Checklist and structured questionnaire were the data collection instruments validated and pre-tested, and reliability coefficient of 0.74 was obtained. Frequency counts and inferential statistics (Pearson’s chi square) were used to analyze collected data. Out of 169 copies of questionnaire administered, 145 (86%) completed copies were returned and usable. Results showed the availability of photocopiers, computers, CR-ROMs, Printer, diskettes, Local Area Network, Outline Public Access Catalogue and Internet facilities in university libraries. ICT, Facilities are mostly applied in the area of cataloging of library collection. There was significant influence of ICT training and us on job performance among library personnel. The study concluded that the high level of job performance of library personnel increases with the availability and use of ICT facilities. The study recommends that the management of university libraries in the North West Nigeria should make provision for more ICT facilities for training for library personnel to effectively and efficiently perform jobs.
