Abstract: Abstract The study was designed to analyze the effects of teachers' qualifications on students mathematical and problem solving abilities. Ex post factor Research design was adopted. The sample of sixty four students (64) selected =room four schools in Minna. The major instrument for data collections was problem —solving test on mole concept (PSTMC) and mathematical Ability test (MAT) made up of 36 short answer questions The PSTMC instrument was validated experts and 10 questions out of 15 were accepted for use. The \LAT was not validated by the researcher because it was adopted. Two hypotheses were zes.tec. '.sing Analysis of variance statistics (ANOVA) with the aid of computer statistical package :Or :lilt social sciences (SPSS). It was found that students taught by chemistry teachers with BSc Eht...1z.='on performed significantly better than those taught by teachers with NCE and BSC holder. Ads -ezommended that in-service training should be organized for chemistry teachers on re2ulari) ,,r,:er to keep them abreast with current research trends. techniques in science teaching.
