Abstract: The driving force of any economy is knowledge and technology. The pride of any economy is its sustainability. Consistent technological innovations will constitute the lubricant that eases the processes in any economy that can be sustained. Economic knowledge produces and endangers the lubrication of the technological knows-how which runs the economy for sustainability. This paper examines the roles of economic knowledge and technology driven approach in achieving sustainable economy. It also considers the barriers to sustainable economy as well as the benefit derivable from a sustainable economy. It therefore recommends measures to be put in place if any meaningful economic development activity should take place in any society economic sustainability.
