Abstract: Quantum growth in information has made information users more cautious especially in access, search and retreival of adequate and relevant information interms of needs. Therefore, the consciousness of need, search, evaluation, retrieval and utilisation of information is the basis for information literacy. The UN has outlined 17 SDGs through which the societies will engage in palliative ventures targeted towards sustainability of life and environment.
