Abstract: The MHD mixed convection flow in melting from a heated vertical plate embedded in porous medium is investigated. The similarity equations are derived and solved numerically using Nachtsheim–Swigert shooting iteration technique along with the sixth order Runge–Kutta integration scheme. Comparisons with previously published work are performed, and the results are found to be in excellent agreement. Results for the non-dimensional velocity and temperature are displayed graphically. During the investigation, it was found that the melting phenomenon decreases the local Nusselt number at the solid-liquid interface
