Abstract: The study evaluated the performance of a solar water pump. The theoretical analysis on the performance evaluation of a solar water pump were made, the pump uses a low boiling point working fluid n-pentane. A flat plate solar generates vapour and its pressure is adequate to pump water. It shows that the pump can lift 2 litres (0.002m3) of water per cycle with volumetric flow rate of 0.0003333m3/s for 2m discharge head and the pump has an overall efficiency of 53%. Suggestions and recommendations which have practical implications for flat plate collector and thermodynamics analysis are given
