Abstract: This paper examine the conventional mass housing approach adopted as a public policy in Nigeria over the years. The consequences of the espouse and implementation of this policy option which was based on the assumption that only the government had the instrumentalities and competence to "house the masses" is also examined the data source of this write-up is basically secondary data source. Finding revealed that over has several decades’ prototypes housing has always been the target of every administration in bathing culture of indigenous approach to housing provision is one of the recommendation made.
