    Innovative Assessment Techniques for Students’ Academic Performance in Information Retrieval Systems Course in LIT Department, FUT Minna, Nigeria.

    The study investigated the use of innovative assessment techniques for students academic performance in information retrieval course. Documentary sources (Test scripts, quiz, and record of attendance, class participation as well as examination scripts and approved result) are /Sed to collect and analyze data. Simple tabulation and percentages were used to further analyze data. Results showed that students performed highly in continuous assessment. While the overall performance off students in the examination and the course was above average. It was further revealed that, to help student score A grade. 28 score B grade while C grade was obtained by 8 students. There was no failure in the course, It was concluded that student can be self-reliant after graduation. The study recommended that lecturer handling related courses should explore under innovative techniques to assess student's academic performance.

    Transforming the Curriculum for New Fra Librarians in Tertiary Institutions: A Study of Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria.

    The study investigated the transformation of curriculum for new librarians in the department of library and information science, Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria. The motivation for the study is to ascertain whether library schools posses resources and receive employer's feedback of graduate. The overall objective transform (With little adjustment/update) the existing program/curriculum leading to new (LIS) program with 50:50 to 60:40 ICT : library science components. Documentary research design was employed with the use of student handbook, a file containing employers rating of library and information technology (LIT) graduate, National University Commission (NUC) 2018 bench mark minimum academic standards (BMAS), and Approved Academic brief (Bachelor of Technology Library and Information Science, 2021). Documentary analysis was carried out. Descriptive statistical tools (frequency counts and percentages) were used to analyze the data.
